It’s been another whirlwind of a year and as we embrace the spirit of the holidays, tis the season to give back to those of us who are most vulnerable this winter!
In light of this and as part of our vision to be a force for good in our communities, we’re excited to announce our 12 Days of Giving campaign! From 13th December- 24th December, we’ll be working with local charities by contributing funds, donating well-needed essentials and raising awareness to help champion their cause throughout the month.
Help us spark holiday spirit by giving to The Jared Box Project, a Pennsylvania-founded organization that delivers boxes filled with fun, age-appropriate activities to children in nearby hospitals. For more than 20 years Jared Boxes have delivered countless smiles, laughter and hope to children in hospitals across the country. Help bring the gift of play to young patients as they navigate through their hospital experience. Drop off small toys, arts and crafts supplies, and games! Visit your local dispensary throughout the 12 Days of Giving to take advantage of the 12 days of select grower promotions we'll be extending as part of this exciting initiative.
List of needs:
We’re not only acting as a force for good in local neighborhoods but also giving to organizations dedicated to reforming cannabis convictions that disproportionately—and unjustly—affect people of color. As the United States moves away from the criminalization of cannabis there remains a fundamental injustice inflicted upon those who have suffered criminal convictions.
AYR is kicking off 12 Days of Giving with a $25k donation to Freedom Grow, a volunteer-run coalition whose “Wish Program” brings light to a dark cell—supporting cannabis prisoners for their sacrifices with simple things we take for granted, such as having access to entertainment through magazines or the ability to educate themselves with books. Besides direct prison outreach, the program also offers family outreach, including a holiday drive for children with incarcerated parents.
AYR is also donating $1.12 of every transaction to the Last Prisoner Project, a national nonprofit that believes that no one should remain incarcerated for cannabis offenses. Through legal intervention, public education, and legislative advocacy, the Last Prisoner Project works to redress the past and continuing harms of our country’s unjust and ineffective approach to drug policy and is committed to freeing every last prisoner of the unjust war on drugs, starting with the estimated 40,000 individuals imprisoned for cannabis.
